Agent
An authorized representative of an insurance company who solicits and services insurance contracts. Also known as an Associate.
    
An individual or firm authorized to act on behalf of another (called the principal), such as by executing a transaction or selling and servicing an insurance policy. The agent does not assume any financial Risk in the transaction, as a dealer would. An agent can be a person or a firm that carries out securities transactions for clients. The person or the firm should have the license issued by the state to sell insurance.
