Overview:
Mr. José María Sáenz Valiente laid the foundations of SÁENZ VALIENTE & ASOCIADOS in 1946 with the same principles and ideals with which his father founded a prestigious Law Firm in 1912. At that time, the laws protecting the labour activity had been passed and the Labour Law Courts had been created in Argentina. It was then when Mr. Sáenz Valiente, with the purpose of providing corporate assistance services as regards labour matters, started his important career in Argentine Law.
Through its connections with the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA, in Spanish), the Law Firm represented since then many national and international companies and entities in labour law and social security matters. In the automotive field, Mr. Sáenz Valiente defended the distributor's rights against manufacturers for more than 25 years, as an active participant in the commercial and fiscal advising through the “Asociación de Concesionarios de la República Argentina (ACARA)” (Argentine Car Dealers Association).
Some years later, Mr. Miguel Tobías Padilla joined the Law Firm. During that new period, the Law Firm extended its profile and expanded the provision of legal services, incorporating experts in the area of administrative law, foreign investments and tax related matters. The unexpected death of Mr. Miguel Tobías Padilla meant an important loss for the Law Firm of a person who, as a partner, was a solid pillar due to his excellence and great professionalism as regards corporate assistance.
Mr. José María Sáenz Valiente is a well known legal writer and author of the books of authority who has had an outstanding performance in every area of law he has acted in, whether in civil, commercial or labour matters such as tax, family or constitutional law and within the latter, as an undisputed defender and protector of the freedom of the press. He has set precedent obtaining case law from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Argentine Republic in many of the cases he defended. Furthermore, his conferences are highly valued in our country as well as abroad.
