Common Sense Investment Management, LLC is an independent, privately-held fund of hedge funds manager located in Portland, Oregon. Our primary focus is investing in hedge funds specializing in equities, both long and short. Our investor base consists of corporate and public pension plans, endowments, foundations, health care organizations, high net worth individuals and family offices. As of January 1, 2013, we manage approximately $3.2 billion in assets across four main strategies. Our firm's goal is to generate superior risk-adjusted returns with a low correlation to both the equity and fixed income markets. Risk can be defined and measured in many ways – we believe the most important aspect of controlling risk is by limiting the exposure of our investors’ capital to a large loss. We strive to achieve this goal through extensive quantitative and qualitative risk management disciplines we have developed over the past 20 years of managing our portfolios.
