History:

Since 1912, Brown, Lisle/Cummings, Inc. has dealt personally and confidentially with client`s money, their present financial needs and their plans for the future. This commitment has demanded the highest degree of ability, integrity and judgment. You will find these qualities throughout our organization - in our partners, our account representatives, and our operations personnel.

In 1984, two Rhode Island investment firms - Brown, Lisle & Marshall, Incorporated, founded in 1912, and Cummings & Co., Inc., founded in 1927, merged to form Brown, Lisle/Cummings, Inc. The predecessor firms had been serving clients residing primarily in New England and had long-standing relationships with most clients reaching back five generations in some instances. Clients have kept their accounts with us despite moves to other parts of the United States and to other countries so that, now, our client base is worldwide.

Many competing financial service companies have represented themselves as safe and stable and, then, they disappear. Over 5,300 banks have disappeared through mergers just between 1985 and 1998.
