History:
Business Bank opened its doors to the Skagit Valley Community on April 11, 2005.
Prior to opening, 270 shareholders invested in the idea of a locally owned community bank that would serve local businesses and professionals. $11.1 million was raised in the initial offering. During this initial phase, board members were selected and the Bank grew ever closer to opening its doors.
As the opening date grew near, a team of highly skilled, experienced and successful banking professionals, was assembled. This process of acquiring the best in the business continues today.
The Burlington Branch was the first to open and is the corporate headquarters for the company. This branch will serve as the “Hub” of future Skagit County branches.
In July 2006 the Bellingham Branch was opened. This decision led to more than just a second branch, a name change would soon follow.
In April of 2008, the Mount Vernon branch opened in a temporary building while construction took place next door for a permanent location. The new building was completed and opened in Fall of 2008.
