Overview:

Cadence Capital Management is an independent, employee-owned investment management company specializing in disciplined growth equity. Since opening our doors to institutional investors in 1988 with $20 million in seed capital from Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company, Cadence has grown to approximately $2.8 billion in assets. Today we manage Large Cap Growth, Focused Growth, Mid Cap Growth, Small Cap Growth and Micro Cap Growth portfolios for private and public pension funds, corporate accounts, Taft-Hartley plans, foundations and endowments. We also manage these strategies for smaller 401(k) plans and individual investors through managed account programs and mutual funds.

Our size is a competitive advantage for us. We are large enough to have some market impact, yet small enough to move in and out of stock positions relatively easily. We have a plan for growth that is in sync with our investment process. We recognize the sources of our added value and intend to grow accordingly.

We are also unique in our approach to the valuation of stocks. Our process ranks particular fundamental attributes with complementary valuation parameters. For example, we will rank forecasted earnings growth with a price-to-earnings ratio based on forecasted earnings. This compound approach to valuation allows us to find attractive growth ideas that might not otherwise make it through the valuation phase of the screening process. It also levels the playing field for all stocks, from oil companies to software firms, and eliminates the biases inherent in both pure growth and pure value approaches.
