OmniAmerican Bank

Overview:

As a community bank offering comprehensive financial solutions since 1956, OmniAmerican’s mission is to provide a consistently fair return to our stakeholders by:
Developing lasting customer relationships;
Practicing fiscal responsibility;
Offering a rewarding work environment; and
Contributing positively to our communities.
History:

When seven military officers formed a business plan to establish a financial institution, they could not have imagined the strength of today’s OmniAmerican Bank. Their collective $35 investment in 1956 now represents over $1 billion in assets. Whether offering one-on-one attention in a brick-and-mortar branch office or delivering the convenience of secure online-banking transactions, today’s OmniAmerican Bank provides financial services for customers worldwide.

OmniAmerican was originally chartered to serve active-duty Air Force personnel who were assigned to Carswell Air Force Base and retired military personnel who were eligible to receive benefits. Over the years, the Fort Worth-based institution has enjoyed unprecedented growth, highlighted by its extension to 16 branch locations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and its expansion of financial services through the Mortgage Group, Commercial Banking Group, OmniAmerican Financial Services and Treasury Management.

Since 2000, OmniAmerican has taken several significant steps to ensure the next 50 years are just as progressive as the first 50 years:

In 2001, OmniAmerican Federal Credit Union members voted to become a state chartered credit union.

OmniAmerican Credit Union members overwhelmingly approved a change to a mutual savings bank in 2005 and began to operate under the Office of Thrift Supervision.

In January 2010, the depositors of OmniAmerican Bank approved a plan of conversion from a mutual to stock form. As part of the conversion, OmniAmerican Bank became a wholly-owned subsidiary of OmniAmerican Bancorp and, as of January 21, 2010, was listed on the NASDAQ Exchange as OABC.

For over half a century, OmniAmerican Bank has helped shape the financial landscape of North Texas. As a business and community leader, OmniAmerican Bank looks forward to building on this proud tradition of service for many years to come.
