First State Bank

Overview:

First State Bank was founded in 1896 by R. Lee Morris and operated as a private bank until 1958, at which time it was incorporated as a State Chartered Bank. The bank has operated continuously since it's inception and weathered the "Great Depression" as well as the "Banking Crisis of the 80's".

A single office operated in Chico until branch banking was permitted in Texas and in 1995 the Bridgeport branch was opened, in 1997 a branch in Runaway Bay was established and in 2007 the Paradise branch opened. Significant growth has been experienced in the last five years due to the influx of people into Wise County from the metroplex area, with the bank doubling in size during the last five years.

Our mission statement typifies our desire to maintain our community ties and provide state of the art banking services with friendly personal service.
