History: 

1902 - From its founding in 1898, Polk County Bank is renamed Citizens National Bank, and a national bank charter is issued; A new building is constructed at the corner of Church and Jackson Streets, after a fire destroys most of downtown Livingston.

1910 - Citizens National Bank is renamed First National Bank of Livingston. J. W. Cochran is its President
1913 - A new two story building is built on West Church Street

 
1933 - First National Bank reopens after the March 4 - March 8 banking holiday and survives the Great Depression
1934 - J. W. Cochran passes away, and A. W. Peebles assumes the bank's leadership
1957 - Allen Peebles becomes Chief Executive Officer. A. W. Peebles becomes Chairman of the Board

1958 - A new building is constructed on North Washington Avenue
1976 - The current bank building is constructed on Church Street
1983 - Allen Peebles is elected Chairman of the Board
1986 - John West becomes Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank
1990 - First National Bank opens its first branch in Onalaska, Texas
1993 - First National Bank opens its second branch on Highway 190 West, Livingston
1998 - First National Bank acquires The Bank of Livingston and merges it into First National Bank
2000 - John Slocomb is elected President & C.E.O.
2001 - Allen Peebles celebrates his 53rd year with the bank, and he is currently serving as Chairman
2002 - First National Bank celebrates it's 100th anniversary
2003 - Technology upgrades continue as First National continues to offer customers the latest in technology
2004 - Land is purchased on Hwy 190 West for construction of a new headquarters building
2005 - Construction begins on the new headquarters building
2006 - First National Bank opens for business in the new headquarters on October 10


2007 – First National Bank continues to invest in technology to ensure that our customers are offered the products and services that will meet or exceed their needs
