History:

Since 1963, LegacyTexas Bank has reflected the values that make Texas an extraordinary place to live, work and raise a family. From our roots as a small, independent Collin County bank, LegacyTexas has emerged as one of the state’s strongest and most respected. It is a history of innovation. LegacyTexas Bank was one of the first to introduce ATMs in Texas and was first in the region to bring branch banking locations to customers. Today, LegacyTexas serves families and businesses throughout North Texas at 19 banking centers located across four counties.

In 1963, we started out as Plano National Bank (later renamed Plano Bank & Trust) with just eight employees and total assets of $1.7 million. Our goal was to serve as the community bank for individuals and businesses in Collin County.

Over the next several years, we remained on the frontier of banking service and technology, installing some of the first ATMs in the state. Customer service and convenience remained the bank’s focus and led to our expansion throughout Collin County.

In 1996, Plano Bank & Trust acquired First Bank-McKinney, giving our bank a greater asset base and putting us in a strong position to fulfill our original vision of providing a locally owned community bank to North Texas. This merger set the stage for the 1999 name change to Legacy Bank of Texas – now LegacyTexas Bank.

Today, LegacyTexas, headquartered in Plano at Legacy Drive and Preston Road, has over 350 employees and 19 locations throughout Collin, Dallas, Tarrant and Parker Counties. Through our subsidiary companies, LegacyTexas Insurance, LegacyTexas Title Company, LegacyTexas Mortgage, and LegacyTexas Wealth Advisors, we offer a wide open range of consumer and commercial financial services for businesses and individuals in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
