Texas State Bank

Overview:

The Beginning - Texas Bank opened its doors on February 16, 1963 at 2201 Sherwood Way with nine employees, 108 stockholders, and $500,000 in exchange assets and cash. The original Directors of the Bank were Ted R. Brown, Henry C. Charless, R.C. Crabb, Arch Lewis, W.I. Marshall Jr., J. Mark McLaughlin, Douglas Pond, Armistead D. Rust, and Ed H. Schuch. These original founders of Texas Bank believed that a home-owned bank could better serve West Texans in realizing their visions for a prosperous future. The Bank was a valuable resource during its early years, providing capital, services, and leadership to the West Texas area.

The Growth - Assets increased six-fold during the Bank's first decade of service. Additions to the Bank since it opened have included a motor bank and a four-story, 30,000 square-foot bank tower opened in 1979. In 1992, an investment service department was created to offer annuities and mutual funds. In 1996, Investment Centers of America opened an office in Texas Bank featuring a full service Investment Center. In 1997, Texas Bank expanded into Agricultural Lending. In 1998, Texas Bank celebrated its 35th Anniversary by dedicating a landscaping beautification project located on the west side of the Bank. Two old buildings were torn down to make room for more parking, landscaping, and a statue to celebrate Texas Bank's West Texas heritage. In early 1999, Texas Bank opened its first branch site located on College Hills Blvd. In August of 2009, the Lake View branch was opened on North Chadbourne St, increasing the Bank's ability to serve the entire community.

Local leadership has always governed Texas Bank as a stable, secure financial source. Through the years, capitalization has remained consistently strong. This kind of conservative management has paid off in both good economic times and the more challenging times. Texas Bank is known throughout the state as one of the most successful banks in Texas.

The Future - Texas Bank is looking toward the future in every aspect of its organization. The Bank has invested extensively in technology to provide customers with the latest in banking services and products. We are happy to offer Anytime Banking, Internet Banking, Internet Bill Pay, E-statements, Mobile Banking, Cash Management, and Remote Deposit Capture. Texas Bank is well positioned now and for the future to compete with any regional or large bank.

It is with this successful past that we pledge to continue striving for excellence. We believe our success as a bank has its foundation in the pride we feel through providing our customers with outstanding service and products.
