Texas First Bank

Overview:

At Texas First Bank, our mission is to provide quality financial services by developing exceptional and long-term personalized relationships with the citizens in the communities we serve. We are proud to say that we are staffed with local employees ready to serve you from the boardroom to the lobby.

Our journey began in 1973 when a group of investors organized by Charles T. Doyle purchased First State Bank of Hitchcock. This group also envisioned and successfully established a banking center in all thirteen incorporated towns in Galveston County by the end of the twentieth century. In addition, Texas First acquired Rust-Ewing Insurance Agency, Paramount Mortgage Company, now called Texas First Mortgage, and opened an SBA Lending Division.

With the acquisition of Gulf Coast Bank, Texas First Bank expanded into Harris, Jefferson, Chambers, and Brazoria counties. The future has exciting new endeavors for the board of directors and employees of Texas First to provide various means for us to continue to Helping Texans Build Texas.
History:

Texas First Bank is Galveston County's largest, locally owned family of independent community banks. Building an organization takes many years of planning. Charles T. Doyle had a vision for banking and that vision became a reality in 1973 with the acquisition of his first bank.

By year-end 1999, as part of Doyle's vision, he had a banking center in all thirteen cities in Galveston County. Strategic planning sessions are consistently held for the Texas First Bank team and these sessions lead to the services and products, which have made Texas First the bank of choice for area residents. Strategic planning has also contributed to the growth of this bank with recognition state and nation wide.
