Welcome to the new website of The Peoples Savings Bank of Urbana, Ohio. As either a returning customer or a first time visitor, we hope our new site offers you the convenience of being able to find solutions to all your financial questions on just one web site.
The Peoples Savings Bank is truly unique in that for 125 years we have remained dedicated to our founding ideals of serving Urbana and Champaign County – as a mutually chartered, state savings bank. With our two convenient offices in Urbana, we pride ourselves on personal service that exceeds your expectations each and every time you walk in our door.
We fully appreciate that in this age of technology you have many banking options that weren’t available ten years ago. No longer is your only option the bank located just down the street. We also understand the “people” part of banking – and for 125 years TPSB has kept the people of Urbana and Champaign County first and foremost in all we do. To do that takes an experienced staff – and the staff at The Peoples Savings Bank averages more than 17 years in banking and more than 13 years at Peoples.
In addition, we understand that many customers are also seeking the latest in modern computer banking technology. For those folks, we offer on-line banking with bill pay -- as well as a smart phone app offering the convenience of remote deposit capture.
We are still – and always will be – a local, mutual, bank dedicated to serving the financial needs of the people of Urbana and Champaign County. To that end, we support – both financially and with the many volunteer hours of our staff members – a wide variety of worthwhile local civic and educational projects. History:
In 1892, the Peoples Savings Bank was granted a charter by the State of Ohio to open for business in Urbana, Ohio. Realizing the importance of the Champaign County community they would serve, it was thus very logical to choose the name: The PEOPLES Savings and Loan Company.
In 1993, Peoples changed from a state-chartered savings and loan to a state-chartered savings bank – then becoming The Peoples Savings Bank. As a mutual savings bank -- and thus having no stockholders -- our dedication continues to be to the people we serve.
Over the years, Peoples has continually been meeting the financial needs of Urbana and Champaign County. Today, TPSB has a main office downtown at 10 Monument Square and a full-service branch with ATM at 618 Scioto Street.
As a full-service bank, we offer a wide array of both deposit and loan products. On the savings side, TPSB offers regular and NOW checking accounts, savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit, retirement, and HSA accounts. For those seeking to borrow, The Peoples Savings Bank offers home, farm, investment, and commercial mortgages. In addition, we also provide a full line of installment lending services including credit cards, personal loans, and loans for the purchasing of cars, trucks, boats, and motorcycles.
The Peoples Savings Bank also offers all the convenience of computer banking complete with bill pay – that can be accessed both on-line and via a smart phone app. TPSB is proud to offer the best of both banking worlds with “people when you need them – technology when you don’t”!
