History:
Randolph Bank & Trust Company was granted a charter in late 1977, and first opened for business at 175 North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro on November 6, 1978.
The bank opened its first branch office, the North Asheboro Branch on March 19, 1981.
The Dixie Drive Branch was opened on December 2, 1985, and also includes the bank’s board of directors meeting room. The bank opened its fourth office, and first office outside Asheboro, on August 30, 1988, in the town of Randleman.
In 1992, Randolph Investment Services was formed as a subsidiary of the bank, and offers our customers a variety of non-deposit products and services – primarily mutual funds, stocks, life and accident insurance, annuities, and other investment products.
The bank’s fifth office, West Pointe, was opened on August 29, 2000, and is located on NC Highway 49 South in Asheboro.
Our sixth full service office was added on June of 2002, when a merger with Morris Plan Bank in Burlington was completed. The expansion into Alamance County was the bank’s first banking facility outside of Randolph County.
In June 2005, Randolph Bank opened a branch in Mebane in the Mebane Oaks Shopping Center.
In September of 2007, Randolph Bank opened a new full-service banking center in Burlington. The new office, located at 3239 South Church Street, replaced its branch on South Worth Street and its loan production office on South Church Street in Burlington. In addition to more parking, the new 9,876 square-foot office features a larger lobby and a receptionist to assist customers.
Randolph Bank ventured into the Greenville, North Carolina area in June of 2008 by opening a loan production office at 102 East Victoria Court.
In March 2010, Randolph Bank opened a mortgage loan production office in Cary at 1135 Kildare Farm Road. The Cary office focuses on finding the right mortgage loan for customers and specializes in no cost mortgages.
The Operations Center which includes Account Services, IT/Computer Room, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Cash Management, Credit Administration, Collections, Internal Audit/Compliance, and Human Resources is located at 146 E. Ward St. in Asheboro.
As of May 2010, Randolph Bank had approximately 100 employees, total assets of $290 million and total deposits of $240 million. The bank has historically made a solid return for shareholders.
Randolph Bank is a state chartered bank, and is subject to the regulatory authority of the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). |
