Americana Community Bank

Mission statement:

Helping you achieve financial success throughout your lifetime.
History:

Welcome to Americana Community Bank! You'll find that we are the bank that provides excellent, friendly, down-to-earth service while actively participating in and supporting the communities we serve. Though our name has changed over the past 100 years, our knowledge, dedication and excellent service have been constant.

1881     The State Bank of Sleepy Eye founded by F.H. Dyckman, Silas D. Scudder and Hans Mo is chartered. It is the first bank in Sleepy Eye, Minn.
1914     The State Bank of Sleepy Eye moves into "the most impressive building designed for banking purposes" in central Minnesota. The new building boasts Italian Marble, African mahogany woodwork, Roman terrazzo floors and a public restroom. This building still stands in downtown Sleepy Eye.
1983     Following discussions that began at the kitchen table, Bob Dittrich and Ray Bentdahl purchase controlling interest of the State Bank of Sleepy Eye.
1985     The bank's name is changed to Americana Bank Sleepy Eye and moves into a new modern bank building complete with drive-up lanes.
1986     Bob Dittrich becomes sole owner of Americana Bank Sleepy Eye.
1989     Americana Bank purchases the Northwest bank in Medford, Minn., and adds it as a new branch office. The name is changed to Americana Bank Medford.
1991     The Bank's name is changed to Americana Community Bank when approval is received to open in Chanhassen.
1992     Americana Community Bank builds and opens a new branch office in Chanhassen, Minn.
2000     Americana Community Bank opens two new branch offices. In January, an office is opened in Minnetonka, Minn. In October, a newly constructed office opens in Maple Grove.
2005     The Chanhassen branch is relocated "across the railroad tracks." Senior Management and Administration offices are housed above the new branch.
2009     Adam Dittrich is hired as President and CEO of Americana Community Bank.

As you can see, Americana Community Bank has been around a long time--surviving World Wars, the Great Depression and many other conflicts. The banking industry is constantly changing, and we bring to you, our valued customers, the very best in customer service and technology.
