National Exchange Bank & Trust

History:

The National Exchange Bank has been a pillar of stability in the Fond du Lac community since it first opened its doors on December 20, 1933 on 104 S. Main St. Due to expansion and development; National Exchange Bank is now located at 130 S. Main Street and now known as National Exchange Bank & Trust. The Trust department opened in 1975 to better serve the expanded financial needs of the area.

Today National Exchange Bank & Trust is 27 offices strong, beginning with the addition of the Mount Calvary office in 1989. Other offices were soon added making National Exchange Bank & Trust a large presence in Southeastern Wisconsin.

The following table summarizes our expansion.1989    Mount Calvary becomes the first branch of National Exchange Bank & Trust after the Mount Calvary State Bank was purchased.
1991    A Campbellsport office was built on Sheboygan Street in Campbellsport.
1994    State Bank of Cascade was purchased to become the newest National Exchange Bank & Trust office. Formerly M&I banks, Glenbeulah and Marytown join National Exchange Bank & Trust.
1995    A West Bend office was built on Paradise Drive in West Bend. At the same time, National Exchange Bank & Trust acquired four offices in Sheboygan County: Adell State Bank (Adell and Cedar Grove) and The Bank of Elkhart Lake (Elkhart Lake and Sheboygan Falls.)
1997    National Exchange Bank & Trust adds a second location in Fond du Lac on North Main Street.
1998    The former Bank One building in Eden is purchased and occupied by National Exchange Bank & Trust.
1999    Four more Bank One offices are acquired. Cambria, Pardeeville and Randolph all become a part of the National Exchange Bank & Trust team. Campbellsport adds a second office with the acquisition.
2000    While plans to combine both Campbellsport offices into one location on Fond du Lac St. were finalized, so were plans to add a second office to the West Bend area on Washington St. A former Bank One building, the new office on Washington St. gave customers another option in West Bend.
2003    Four AMCORE banks were acquired in Kingston, Dalton, Montello and Westfield.
2005    Montello's aging facility (the former State Bank of Montello) was demolished in early 2005 and banking services were moved to a newly constructed facility adjacent to the former location. Beaver Dam and Howards Grove became new members of the National Exchange Bank & Trust team joining in April of 2005. These offices were formerly the State Bank of Howards Grove. In October of 2005, National Exchange Bank & Trust purchased the former M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank offices in Allenton, Coloma, Hancock and Montello. Banking services in Montello were combined into the existing National Exchange Bank & Trust Office.
2007
National Exchange Bank & Trust entered new territory in the industry with its first venture into a grocery store facility in October 2007. A partnership with a newly constructed Festival Foods on the east side of Fond du Lac give the bank 600 square feet in the front of the store to serve its existing and future customers in this growth area of the city. The facility operates seven days each week.

In addition to our physical banking locations, National Exchange Bank & Trust opened a "virtual office" in 1998, continuing its tradition as an industry leader with the introduction of Exchange OnLine, an Internet Banking product.

The continuing growth of National Exchange Bank & Trust demanded a unified look throughout all of our communities, so in 2002; National Exchange Bank & Trust underwent a face lift with a complete logo change.

Since its inception in 1933, National Exchange Bank & Trust has been at the side of consumers to help them prosper and has assisted small and large businesses to reach their goals to help mold a solid community. Always a friend of education and the numerous organizations throughout the community, the Bank has been most generous in its support.
