Intrinsic Investors is committed to investing in growth stocks selling at value prices. The focus of our process is on publicly-traded companies whose stock prices are at a discount to their "intrinsic" or "private market values." Investing in this manner offers, what Benjamin Graham described as a "margin of safety."

We have developed a proprietary quantitative valuation model (IVAn) that assists us in identifying stocks which, we believe to be undervalued. This process is flexible enough to cover all categories and style of stocks. However, because earnings drive the valuation model, we find that larger or more established companies often offer a source of more sustainable earnings growth potential.

Intrinsic Investors employs a traditional "bottom-up" style of investing. We screen a universe of over 9300 publicly-traded companies for candidates that meet a strict set of investment criteria which, we believe will result in higher stock prices in the future.

We specifically focus on financial statements for profitability ratios, which are a direct reflection of the management of the business. We also examine a company's revenues for clues about whether or not a company can sustain earnings growth into the future. Using these and other indicators, we assemble a selection of likely stock candidates for further analysis. We screen each candidate through our valuation model (IVAn) to get an estimate of where we think the stock may be headed and where we may be able to buy it. We conclude our quantitative analysis with a review of a stock's technical strength, measured by trend and momentum to get an idea of where to enter or exit a position.
