Western Bank

Overview:

From a wagon yard and blacksmith, to a feed store, to a bank, the property at the southeast corner of Ninth Street and Maryland Avenue has always served the people of Alamogordo. Western Bank, born in a trailer at its current site on September 19, 1977, takes pride in its service to the people of Otero County. Customer service ethic has been a part of the bank from the beginning and is still strong years later. On opening day Western Bank reached $1.1 million in deposits and today $72 million in assets. “We focus on the small startup business owner with active solicitation where other banks might not be as willing” said bank president Dion Kidd, who joined the team full time in January 2006. “Being in a small community, we are able to still give the customer the one on one care,” she added. In 1997 and 1998, Western Bank extended its customer service to Tularosa and Cloudcroft, offering full-service banking in those communities.

We welcome all old and new customers to come in and visit with our lending personnel or our customer service staff from 9:00 to 5:00 Mondays thru Friday. And for those customers on the run, our convenient drive through serve our customers from 8:00 to 6:00 in Alamogordo and 8:00 to 5:00 in Tularosa Mondays thru Friday. For our business customers, we can work with you from a Commercial checking account to a Small Business loan and for our individual customer, from a checking account to a home loan. There is no limit to what we can do for our customers. At Western Bank “our customers are our most valuable asset”.
