Mission statement:

The Mission of First Bank & Trust Co. is to:

Exceed expectations through service excellence.

Provide our communities and team members with the opportunities
and resources to flourish.
History:

First Bank and Trust Co. has been one of Southern Oklahoma’s premier banks since December 9, 1988, when Duncan oilman and rancher, LaWayne Jones, acquired First Bank and Trust Co.’s assets and a new charter was granted.

In 1994, First Bank & Trust Co. purchased the Bank of Healdton, located at 313 W. Main. It is a full service branch that includes a drive-thru and ATM.

The first renovations on the lobbies at the downtown Duncan bank located at 923 W. Main and the branch on Plato and U.S. Highway 81 were made in 1996. That same year, the PSO building at 1005 W. Main, across the street from the downtown bank, was purchased, remodeled, and converted into the bank's Fixed-Rate mortgage center. This facility also houses the financial call center, which gives First Bank & Trust Co.’s customers the ability to do one-stop shopping over the telephone.

At the 1997 Oklahoma Bankers Association Annual Meeting, First Bank & Trust Co.’s Firstar Savers Program won the State Community Applause Award and later won an award presented by the American Bankers Association Education Council. First Bank & Trust Co. was one of 11 banks nationwide recognized for educational programs implemented in their communities.

In an effort to continue to provide excellent customer service, the bank opened a new branch "worldwide" through the Internet in July 1998. In addition, the community of Healdton was provided with Internet access when First Bank & Trust Co. agreed to allow Internet Duncan to house equipment in the bank. Now, customers can conduct a host of transactions online from paying bills electronically to determining how much of a house payment they can afford. Account holders can access any of their accounts at any time of the day or night from anywhere in the world, as well as initiate transfers from one account to another or make loan payments.

In December 1999, First Bank & Trust Co. acquired Lincoln Bank & Trust Co. in Ardmore with three locations: a downtown branch at 301 West Main, a west branch at 1720 McLish, and a motor bank at 103 C St. SW.

First Bank and Trust Co. continued to grow and opened a Loan Production Office in Norman in March 2001. A temporary site was utilized until the new building was completed in April, 2003 at 2330 36th Ave. NW.  Stop by today to visit our internet bar and have a cup of cappuccino. Norman expansion continues as we open a second full service bank at 2400 Alameda in a temporary building.  Plans are underway for a permanent facility in 2008.

In May 2001, First Bank & Trust Co. was one of five banks awarded during the Oklahoma Bankers Association Annual Meeting as a "Bank of Promise of the Year."  Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin presented the award in honor of outstanding efforts in support of young people.  First Bank and Trust Co. continued to win the title every time it was awarded.

In October, 2005 First Bank and Trust Co. once again rolled out a new look for its website with new flexibility for changes and updates with flash advertising   First Bank & Trust Co. also delivers the highest quality security for it's customers with layers of security working together to ensure all information transmitted between the user and First Bank & Trust Co. is both secure and authentic.  The bank also offers free demonstrations for "E-Banker" and "E-Pay" (the online banking and bill pay products) at every lobby location.  Our website wasn’t the only thing getting a makeover.  Remodeling to the downtown Duncan location began in the fall of 2005 giving our customers the assurance that we are dedicated to the downtown area of Duncan despite the rapid growth north of town.

On December 31, 2005, assets totaled more than $300 million as well as over $35 million in total capital, which makes First Bank & Trust Co. one of the strongest banks in Southern Oklahoma.

Expansion for First Bank and Trust Co. is on-going.  Due to our growth, in the spring of 2006, the Mortgage Center at 1005 W. Main in Duncan will be converted to house our loan administration department, scanning department, and technology center.  Originators for our Fixed Rate Mortgage Department are now located in the main lobby areas in each location.

First Bank and Trust Co. is an active participant in community events and has won many awards over the past several years.  Employees in all locations are proud to participate in local activities and continue to set the bar with our accomplishments.

Directors of First Bank & Trust Co. are LaWayne Jones, Robert L. Duren, Mutt Lewis, Don S. Nutt, Lance E. Jones, Donna Hunt, Barry Duren and Robert Petersen. The Advisory Boards consist of Joe D. (Nub) Sullivan, Gary Brewer, D.D.S., and Ray Marshall in Healdton; and Mike Billingsley and Keith Crites in Ardmore.

On April 11, 2008 Waurika National Bank merged with First Bank & Trust Co.  As a result of the merge, First Bank & Trust Co. assets stand at $346,119,000 and loans outstanding of $275,657,000.
