Overview:

It was determined on November 3, 1971, before the Banking Board of the State of Oklahoma, that the application for a bank charter for FORT GIBSON STATE BANK located at the corner of South Lee and Maple Avenue be approved. This was the time when Fort Gibson population was 1,418 and gasoline was selling for 34 cents a gallon. Long-time resident and businessman Boyd Steveson was a leader in establishing Fort Gibson State Bank and continued as an owner and officer until July 1999.

For only the second time in its history, Fort Gibson State Bank had new owners as of July 1,1999. An “old” Fort Gibson name is now associated with the Bank, the Boatright family. Kirk Boatright and Anthony Stockton are the primary owners of Fort Gibson State Bank. Kirk Boatright serves as Chairman or the Board and is a major supporter in the growth and preservation of the community. Anthony Stockton serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and has forty years of banking experience.

Community involvement is a priority at Fort Gibson State Bank. Our Bank supports school activities in Fort Gibson and surrounding communities through contributions of money, time and needed supplies. Our Bank is involved in community projects such as blood drives, hurricane relief efforts, local livestock shows for the youth. Employees give of their time such as serving as volunteers at school and officers at the Chamber of Commerce.
