History:

Citizens Bank of Blythedale was established, and continues to operate, as an independently owned community bank. On August 30, 1910, local citizens of the Blythedale community met with the purpose of establishing the Citizens Bank of Blythedale. There were 120 shares of stock sold and application made to the Missouri Division of Finance for a charter. On September 6, 1910, a charter was issued and the first board of directors was elected including: Horace Pryor, J.M. Gill, P.J. Richardson, E.T. Leach, C. Canady, J.O. Reed and J.W. Dale.

The original Bank building was a wooden frame structure located at the same location we have today. In 1914, plans were carried out to construct a new bank building made from brick. Considerable remodeling has happened over the years to keep current with modern technology, including a computer room which was constructed in 1972. Current technology has allowed the Bank to to upgrade to Internet Banking in 2007.

The Bank has provided and will continue to provide financial services to farmers and merchants in the surrounding communities
