City Bank & Trust Company of Moberly

History:

City Bank and Trust Company was established in 1935 by a group of Moberly, Missouri, businessmen. The group was headed by Mr. J. E. Bach, a banker from Iowa, who selected Moberly because he saw it as an area that was very promising and desirable for the founding of a banking institution.

The community soon recognized the new bank as a sound, progressive banking institution eager to serve Moberly and its trade territory. It quickly took a prominent role in the community development and has shown substantial growth since the time of its organization.

Many changes have had to take place for City Bank and Trust Company to be able to constantly meet the needs and expectations of its customers. One such change occurred when City Bank and Trust Company joined with Central Bancompany – a holding company with over $8.5 billion in assets. Their partnership has allowed the bank to grow and offer new and innovative solutions while keeping a focus on the local decision-making that has been the benchmark of City Bank and Trust Company.
