Overview: 

Our Home Office located in scenic Mountain Grove, MO is the hub of our organization. We at Mountain Grove along with our 10 other locations take great pride in our communities. Our commitment is to provide great customer service and a nice friendly hometown atmosphere.
History: 

November 1911

We received Missouri Savings and Loan Association charter. Our original name was Mountain Grove Building and Loan Association.
November 1924

Our name changed to Home Building & Loan Association.
November 1925

Made our first loan in neighboring Douglas County in the amount of $1,000.00.
1933-1935

For a period of about 2 years during the Great Depression, Home Building & Loan Association was the only financial institution in the Mountain Grove area cashing paychecks. During this time, we never had to close our doors. In fact, no customer ever had to wait to withdraw funds.
1974

Opened our first branch in Marshfield, MO. The famous Hubble Telescope now makes its home on the lawn of the Marshfield courthouse. The community enjoys 4th of July with a famous parade annually. They also celebrate Harvest Days each year in September.
1978

Our second branch office was opened in Ava, MO. The community is well known for being the home of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association. Ava celebrates Treasure Days in May annually. Glade Top Trail which winds through the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest is also located in Douglas County just South of Ava. It has been named as a Scenic Highways and Byways by our nation.
1990

Our name was changed to First Home Savings Bank.
1992

First Home Savings Bank opened its third branch In Gainesville, MO. Gainesville is a short drive from scenic Bull Shoals Lake and Northfork Lake. It is also near the Northfork River and Bryant Rivers where floating and fishing are enjoyed. They celebrate Hootin & Hollerin every third weekend in September.
1993

Converted to stock ownership and formed our holding company, First Bancshares, Inc.
September 1995

Opened our fourth branch located in Sparta, MO. Located just west of the beautiful Honey Branch Cave where many weddings and parties of all sorts are conducted. Sparta celebrates Persimmon Days in late October annually. They hold their yearly fireworks the week prior to July 4th. Lindenlure is located just north of Sparta on Hwy 125 where the Finley River is used for water recreation.
February 1997

First Home Savings Bank opens its fifth branch located in Theodosia, MO. Located at the Bull Shoals Lake, Theodosia provides much recreational enjoyment. In addition, there are many scenic attractions as found in the local Water Mills Trail. They enjoy their Ozark Mountain Music Fest annually in early September.
March 1998

We opened our sixth branch location in Crane, MO. Located on the James River, Crane provides floating and water recreation. An ever popular event is the Crane Broiler Festival held the last weekend of August every year. There everyone enjoys much food and entertainment.
March 1998

Also in March, First Home Savings Bank opened its seventh location in Galena, MO. The nearby James River provides endless hours of floating and water activities for the community and visitors. The Fair on the Square will be held every year in June. Galena is also the host of Branson USA Motorcross, an annual event held in October. In addition, 4th of July is celebrated complete with fireworks.
July 2000

Our eighth branch is opened in Kissee Mills, MO. This branch office is located near the Bull Shoals Lake providing excellent fishing. The Forsyth Chamber of Commerce holds the annual White Bass Round Up Fish Fry at the Shadow Rock Park for all to enjoy. In addition, the White River Valley Arts & Crafts Show is held in the park every year in the spring and sometimes fall.
October 2000

Our ninth branch is opened in Rockaway Beach, MO. Rockaway Beach is located on the scenic Taneycomo Lake which provides many types of water recreational activities. They are host to the annual Hydroplane Races held the first weekend in June. Rods and Relics held later in June yearly provides entertainment for all and includes a car show, street dancing and other activities.
July 2006

In July 2006 we officially opened our tenth branch located in Springfield, MO.  Springfield is known for its many attractions.  And is also the third largest city within the state.
