History:

Northern Hancock Bank & Trust was formed in Newell, West Virginia in 1978 by local businessman, Basil Mangano, and members of the local community who saw a need for a bank that would serve the entire community. Mr. Mangano’s vision included serving customers that were not always served by other financial institutions. Northern Hancock Bank & Trust was founded on the vision of finding flexible solutions for its customers.

This vision of creating flexible solutions has carried on throughout our history. We have always maintained a focus on the customer’s needs. Because we have remained independent and locally owned, we have the ability to make our own decisions, craft solutions that meet the individual needs of our customers, and focus on the success of our customers and the local community.

Northern Hancock Bank & Trust not only survived the financial crisis of 2009, the bank thrived. We were successful, because prior to the crisis, we had focused on the success of our customers. During this difficult time, we only made loans that our customers could repay and worked with them through their hard times.

Northern Hancock Bank & Trust remains a partner with its customers through good times and hard times. We build lasting relationships and hope to build a relationship with you.
