Bank of Star Valley

History:

The Bank of Star Valley is truly an independent community bank formed by over 140 individuals. The bank doors were opened on March 28, 1996.

The vision in the formation of the Bank was to restore the long tradition of home-town banking which previously existed in Star Valley. The institutions serving the community had become branches of larger organizations, with decisions influenced by the goals and objectives of management located over 100 miles away. With local ownership and management, our customers are dealing with the final decision makers, not order takers.

The Bank has received strong support from the community, growing to more than $92 million in assets in just over 11 years. This growth is due to the high level of service and products that the Bank brings to the community. In an era of "bigger is better," mergers, and mega banks, The Bank of Star Valley has shown that a commitment to ever- improving customer service as well as a tradition of neighbors helping neighbors is alive and well.

The Bank is a strong financial supporter of our community, and as friends and neighbors, our staff and their families take pride in being involved in various community affairs - ranging from the arts to student programs, community organizations and economic development. Deposits of the Bank also benefit the community by supporting loans to deserving individuals and businesses throughout Star Valley.

Recently, The American Bankers Association named The Bank of Star Valley as one of the “Top Community Banks”. The bank ranked #17 out of 1,982 Non-S banks and thrifts across America with assets under $100 million. The ranking was based on financial performance.
