AdvisorNet Financial

Overview:

AdvisorNet Financial provides support independent financial advisors rely on to operate their firms efficiently and competitively. Over the years we’ve developed a vast network of support services and industry partners that solidify our position in the market and provide you with cutting edge technology and access that larger institutions enjoy. In addition to client products such as securities, insurance, advisory services and advanced planning, AdvisorNet Financial is your partner for outsourcing human resources, technology, marketing, and benefits. We also offer access to companies that can offer mortgage services and Property & Casualty Insurance to increase the services you can provide to your clients. With a menu of resources to choose from, we can work with you to utilize the services that best suit your firm.
History:

With over 56 years in the financial services industry, AdvisorNet Financial can look back on several significant incarnations. Founded in 1959 as Strommen & Associates by Clair Strommen, we began with just 5 associates and one staff person.

Through the 60s and 70s we added offices in Duluth, Minnesota and western Wisconsin. By 1980, ownership was assumed by Dan W. Anderson, Wayne C. Swenson and Robert Strommen. The firm added brokerage services and opened an office in Fargo. In 1986 when Robert Strommen left the firm, we changed our name to Swenson Anderson Associates, Inc.

Through the 80s and 90s Swenson Anderson continued to add associates and expand our services into employee benefits as well as insurance brokerage and broker dealer services. Our current President, Dan May joined the firm in 1984. When Dan May joined the ownership team in 1997, our advisor count had exceeded 90, and included 45 staff members.

In 2007, we changed our ownership structure and our name to reflect our reason for being. The name AdvisorNet Financial simply recognizes who we are: a Network of great Financial Services Advisors! Our firm will continue to foster close relationships with advisors while creating a community that helps any independent financial advisor navigate the challenges and evolution of our industry, as each Advisor endeavors to be the resource for their client’s financial services needs.

In 2008 we introduced AdvisorNet Property & Casualty to our clients. In 2011, AdvisorNet Portfolio Partners became the latest services to be added to our now famous “Circle of Services”, an unsurpassed menu of financial products and services for our advisors to offer to their clients which also includes: Investments, life, health, accident insurance, employee benefits, fee based planning, practice management and marketing.

For the last 20 years, our company has become the trusted resource for the independent financial advisor, offering our high level of knowledge and operational support to allow advisors to flourish in their practices.
