MAGALHÃES, NERY E DIAS - ADVOCACIA is the largest and oldest law firm specialized in Economic Law in Brazil. Since its foundation in 1980, when it was known as Carlos Francisco de Magalhães – Advocacia, it has been Brazil's leading law firm specialized in Economic Law. In its specialized area of practice, the firm accounts for approximately eighty percent (80%) of the activity of our members.

The firm is headquartered in the city of Sao Paulo and has had a subsidiary office in Brasilia for over twelve years. It comprises 23 members among attorneys and economists, of which 18 are dedicated to Economic Law. Additionally, the firm regularly works in partnership with economists that are leading consultants in Antitrust Law, Industrial Organization and Economic Regulation in Brazil.

Regarding Competition Law, the law firm has the largest antitrust team in Brazil, and has provided its clients with specialized consulting services in most of Brazil’s major competition defense cases in recent years.

The firm has extensive experience in Consumer Law, Commercial Defense, Unfair Competition and Intellectual Property. It develops consulting services on Prevention of Anti-competition Practices and assists its clients in the definition of commercial and advertisement campaigns, draft of contracts and modeling of corporate agreements.

Our senior lawyers regularly act in important national and international arbitrations concerning business and international trade disputes.

In addition to its recognized performance in Competition Defense Law, the firm has extensive experience in Administrative Law and Economic Regulations. Our activities in these areas have expanded as a result of our experience in the defense of administrative proceedings before regulatory and competition defense agencies. Our performance has been further highlighted because several regulatory cases arise out of competition issues.

Another legal practice is the specialized Civil Litigation.
