Founded in 1861 OBA is one of the oldest financial institutions in the country. Along with the rest of the world, we’ve changed a lot over the years. But the cornerstone of our business has remained the same, to provide outstanding customer service, build lasting relationships with our customers, and offer products and the latest technology to accommodate today’s lifestyles. We have succeeded because we listen to our customers, understand their needs, and create smart products.

Technology. It continues to redefine our lives, and at OBA we have become an aggressive user of it, offering products and services that accommodate today’s lifestyles. In addition, we have been able to streamline internal procedures, holding down costs so that we can offer our customers the best rates around for deposit and loan products.

6/1/1861 Institution established. Original name: Oba Federal Savings And Loan Association
6/30/1989 Moved bank headquarters from Washington, District Of Columbia to Gaithersburg, Maryland.
7/19/2001 Changed name to Oba Federal Savings Bank.
6/1/2002 Moved bank headquarters from Gaithersburg, Maryland to Germantown, Maryland.
12/5/2007 Changed organization type to Stock Savings Bank.
11/17/2010 Changed name to Oba Bank.
7/21/2011 Changed primary regulatory agency from Office Of Thrift Supervision to Comptroller Of The Currency.
