History:

#      1989
Spicerhaart founded by Alick and Paul Smith. Spicer McColl offices open in Colchester (where head office group services are based), Norwich and Cambridge.

#    1990
Mortgages Direct established to provide Financial Services.

#    1995
72 branches acquired from Cornerstone (formerly owned by Abbey National) and re-branded as Spicer McColl, based in towns across England.

#    1996
Wolton Chartered Surveyors, established since 1919, became a Spicerhaart subsidiary.

#    1998
Felicity J. Lord launched to serve the upper end of the market in London.

#    1999
173 branches acquired from Woolwich Property Services (formerly Prudential Property Services) and re-branded as haart, based in towns across England.

#    2000
47 branches acquired from Darlows, retaining its name in Wales while branches in the South West were re-branded as haart.

#    2001
Legal Services division established.

#    2003
Launch of Corporate Sales and Professional Services divisions.
