Overview:

This US based investment company was created to invest in early stage Central European environmental projects (such as solar, wind, waste water, solid & liquid wastes, sustainable energy and recycling), and companies operating sustainably in all sectors of the economy (clean technology).

EIP III's target investees usually have at least 2 years of operating experience and management with a strong track record of success and profitability.

Given its focus on early stage and central European investments the EIP III investment company will invest € 0.1 mm to € 1.0 mm per project. EIP III often seeks local co-investors to invest alongside it for similar amounts.

EIP III seeks applicants who can answer the attached questionnaire (download here) in part or in full.

EIP III provides investments in local currency equity, convertible loans or debt with warrants of up to a maximum of five years. EIP III's investment can be either corporate or project finance related.

When providing equity, EIP III seeks to have control over all major decisions of an investee but not to be involved in the investee's daily management.

When providing debt EIP seeks market returns for below investment grade type investments and wishes to have an equity upside opportunity.

EIP III specializes in developing SME companies to a size where traditional venture capitalists can step in for a second or third round of financing with investments of at least Euro 5-10 mm.

EIP III is a member of the Polish Venture Capital Association (PSIK). The PSIK has lists of other venture capitalists with different foci and amounts to be invested (http://www.psik.org.pl/). In addition please see (http://www.empea.net) for more funds outside Poland.

EIP III has appointed European Investments & Partners to source new investments for the investment company. EIP III has no legal presence in Poland or Central Europe and relies on European Investments & Partners for investment advice in this region.
