History:

Previoulsy known as Benchmark Securities Ltd, Global Capital Securities and Financial Services Ltd was incorporated in 1997 as private firm with an initial capital of CYP 210.000.

In March 1997 the Company became member of the Cyprus Stock Exchange with Code Number 30.
On March 11, 1997 Benchmark Securities Ltd formally started its brokerage operations on the Floor of the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
In 1998, Global Capital Ltd purchase 90% of the Company's share capital. Global Capital Ltd was established as a venture-backed private limited company with the active support of Cyprus Development Bank (CDB). In its initial business plan Global Capital Ltd was guided by the vision “to be the leading investment company providing financial advice and expertise in the introduction and management of a range of sophisticated, innovative financial instruments and services to both private investors and the corporate sector both in Cyprus and other emerging markets in the Middle East and South -Eastern Europe.” In full awareness of the thorny problems facing such an institution in an largely unregulated and infantile developmental stage financial services sector, Global Capital Ltd nonetheless stubbornly pursued the fulfillment of its vision by taking the following steps as marked out in its business plan.
To provide fund management and broader diversification opportunities and stock selection expertise to local and foreign investors through a dedicated Asset Management Department.
To provide Brokerage Services business to generate a stable base of income, to yield suave clientele for our other (main) businesses and to execute our investment strategies at low transaction costs. This was done through the acquisition of Benchmark Securities Limited (a stock broker company member of the Cyprus Stock Exchange) that was concluded in 1998.
To provide high value added corporate finance and management advisory services (including capital raising, company valuation, IPO underwriting, M&A, capital structure advising). These services are offered through the dedicated internal Corporate Advisory.

On May 12, 2003 Benchmark Securities Ltd was granted the license by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission to operate as Cyprus Investment Services Firm. Under this arrangement the Company is licenced to receive and execute trading orders, to manage funds and provide corporate finance advisory services. Its name was changed to Global Capital Securities and Financial Services Ltd.
On May 21, 2003 the Global Capital Limited transferred its corporate advisory and asset management operations to its subsidiary Global Capital Securities and Financial Services Limited. As a result, all activities previously undertaken by Global Capital Ltd and Benchmark Securities Ltd were rationalized under a single entity and under one name.
In May 2007 Global Capital Ltd became 100% owner of Global Capital Securities and Financial Services Ltd.
From 1997 to 2001 the Company's fully paid up share capital increased to CYP 2.100.000.
