Overview:

Take a drive down Main Street in Bexley, Ohio and you can’t help but notice one thing: we have a lot of banks here! Just about every player is represented, all just doors away. So why in the world did we decide to open our doors in May, 2006? Quite simply, we can and do offer our customers unique banking advantages.

By focusing first on relationships.

The First Bexley Bank is built on personal relationships and community loyalty. For any bank or business for that matter, customers appreciate and reward superior customer service. This is particularly true at FBB. We have a small staff and we’ve all been here a while. You can establish long-lasting relationships with us and become comfortable dealing with the same people over time. As for us, we’re quickly able to recognize you, your needs and forge personal relationships.

We must and do cater to individual needs.

When you turn to the big, national banks for a loan you have a fairly good idea of what their criteria is going to be. Objective criteria such as your credit score and credit history will take precedence. And while these factors will of course play a role in loan decisions at FBB, they won’t be the only factors. We are often willing to consider other factors as well such as character, your family’s history and discretionary spending. In other words, your individual circumstances will be taken into account.

Quick decisions and more accessibility to decision makers.

When you’re waiting for a loan, time is often of the essence. With us that answer will come fast since the decision is made locally. In fact, while the decision maker of the national banks is often headquartered outside of your branch, the decision maker at FBB is right here.

We get it.

Our customers aren’t large corporations. Our customers are local families and local businesses with banking needs very similar to our own. Remember we too are essentially a small business so we can fully understand and relate to the needs of other small business owners in our community. Our Boards of Directors represents a cross section of the community with diverse backgrounds and expertise. It is not uncommon for at least one director to personally know a customer of a community bank. With that level of intimacy, it’s easier for “tougher” decision to be made by the bank.

We are all about giving back and serving the community.

It is part of our mission to become deeply involved in the Bexley community and the surrounding areas. We strive to create deep loyalty through civic involvement. At the First Bexley Bank we have created partnerships with area schools, initiating scholarship programs for numerous students. We have begun offering free financial workshops for students you who are college bound and/or ready to embark on a degree of fiscal responsibility. And we have gone “green” scheduling regular “Community Shred It” days to anyone who has papers they want to dispose of safely and with minimum amount of waste.
