THE PREMIER BUSINESS ASSOCIATION NORTH OF THE RIVER
The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) is a reputable not-for-profit, with more than 20 years’ experience in supporting and representing businesses. Founded by a passionate group of people in 1999, the WBA is now recognised as the premier business association North of the River, with an ever-growing and active community of over 400 members, from 83 suburbs across Perth.

History:

The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) was incorporated in August 1999 by a group of business people with the task of looking after the interests of the newly formed City of Wanneroo local authority.

The new association drew on a long history of the Wanneroo Chamber of Commerce formed in the early 1970s, which worked collaboratively with the Shire of Wanneroo. The steering committee charged with establishing a new representative body chose the "Business Association" model over other models including a chamber of commerce because a business association better reflected the local business community.

The WBA soon became a powerful advocate for the needs of business, and to this day, regularly tackles issues which inhibit the expansion of business within the City of Wanneroo. Issues include infrastructure, such as rail and road, telephone, broadband and power supply as well working collaboratively with the City of Wanneroo on projects including skills development and business security.

More than 20 years later, the WBA is stronger than ever with over 400 members. The organisation is led by a voluntary Board of Management, but has grown to employ two dedicated full-time staff. Feedback and consultation has allowed us to build a range of business support services to ensure we remain relevant and can continue to keep our finger on the pulse of the business community.
