Overview:

Imagine a bank with a clear focus on how local banking should be done. A bank free of the baggage that comes with “banking as usual.” We’re talking traditional, square deal sensibilities that come from working one-on-one with someone you know. Someone who lives and works in your community.

That’s what’s different about Clatsop Community Bank – it’s the only bank locally owned right here in Clatsop County. And with that, we accept a heightened sense of responsibility to our customers. To do the right thing. To treat them as we’d want to be treated. After all, we’re not reporting to higher-ups in faraway places – we’re reporting to our neighbors.

Building this new kind of bank from the ground up was a grassroots effort. It began as a conversation between Steve Ferber and Joe Schulte on the front porch one afternoon. These two, who both have a long history in Clatsop County, called upon others in the community who share their vision for a true local bank. Stock was sold, money was raised, and the venture was off and running.

Steve, our president and chief operating officer, has lived and worked in Clatsop County for almost 20 years. Joe, our executive vice president, grew up in Seaside and is raising his own family in nearby Gearhart. Both have solid backgrounds in finance and are actively involved in the community.

4/22/2008 Institution established. Original name: Compass Community Bank
5/20/2009 Changed name to Clatsop Community Bank.
7/26/2010 Changed name to Clatsop Community Bank
