Overview:

Morganton Federal is Burke County’s only local financial institution, serving our neighbors and friends continuously since 1903.

In 2001 we completed an adaptive historical renovation of “The Cedars”, the home of Col. Samuel McDowell Tate, of Civil War fame, and relocated our offices in this landmark building. We are located at the intersection of West Union and King Streets, and are proud to have been able to preserve this piece of history for our community.

We are local, serving only local folks, and making local decisions. We don’t have to consult with Charlotte, or Raleigh, or Atlanta. Our President and CEO has his office by the front door, not in a high rise far away. Our Board of Directors are local business people.
