Overview:

Gurney Financial Services commenced on th 31st August 2005, and was run as a part time after hours business for family and friends for the first 3 years whilst Tarnia worked fulltime and built up the business. In Mid 2008, Tarnia went fulltime into assisting families with their financial situation. She has built her business through referrals from family, friends, clients, aswell as other local businesses. Tarnia has also supported the Expos and Buy Local Events on the Central Coast where she has met many a new client. Gurney Financial Services, has also built long term relationships through various networking events on the Central Coast, which now lead to referrals, new clients and friendships.

Tarnia was employed in retail customer service from 1987, however in 1995, she transferred into financial services, working her way up and through one of Australia's Largest Superannuation and Insurance Company. Whilst there she completing
numerous customer service courses to further her education and understanding of her customers.

In 2003, with a relocation to the Central Coast, Tarnia was employed by a local Central Coast Small Boutique Financial Planning Company. Whilst employed there, Tarnia successfully completed her Certificate in Management as well as her Diploma in Financial Planning.

Tarnia noticed that there is a need for younger financial advisers who can relate to those in the same situations. She has found that most people her age had numerous superannnuation funds and had taken out a mortgage on their home, however have not planned how to pay for the mortgage if tragedy strikes. Tarnia hopes to prepare individuals and their families in home budgeting, insuring the family and saving for retirement. Tarnia hopes this in turn will lead to creating a lifestyle her clients will be happy with.
