Mainstreet Bank

History:

Bunceton State Bank started in 1932 as the dream of Homer Scott and his son, Earl. The original building, erected in 1915, was once home to Bunceton Bank, and was pronounced by competent judges to be the most handsome building in any Missouri town the size of Bunceton. In 1960, the building was remodeled by Estel L. Davis.

In 2000, a group of local investors comprised of home builders, realtors, appraisers, estate planners, insurance agents, accountants and self-employed business people got together to start a new kind of bank in Ashland, MO. The investors saw a need for a true community-based bank, where decisions were made locally and customers were treated with friendly service. Customer service would be the standard, not the exception. To start this process the investors purchased a small community bank in Bunceton, MO - Bunceton State Bank. The bank had one branch, three employees and nine million in assets.

Two years after the acquisition of Bunceton State Bank, “world headquarters” was moved to Ashland, MO and the name became what it is today, Mainstreet Bank. The Ashland location experienced its first renovation to become more progressive in 2003, with a second renovation in 2007. The branch has more than doubled in size since.

In continued growth, a third branch was added to the Mainstreet family in 2006, when a location was opened in Prairie Home, MO. The bank has grown tremendously in the last eight years, with the number of employees more than quadrupling and assets rising from nine million to sixty-five million. Mainstreet Bank has grown from a small bank in Bunceton, MO to three locations throughout central Missouri, with more to come. The plan is to continue growing, while always remaining focused on the community and providing customers with the best personal service.
