History:

Brisen was founded in 1996 by the current Managing Director, Willie Brits, who was previously the Procurement Manager of Nola Industries and then later a director and shareholder of FR Waring.

   In 1997 Paul du Plessis joined Brisen. He was previously Procurement Director of Meadow Feeds and Raw Material Manager of Nola Industries.
   In 1999 Konrad Keyser joined Brisen. Konrad was previously the International Markets Economist of the Maize Board and Grain Marketing Manager of Senwes.
   In 2008 Barnie de Klerk joined Brisen after previously being involved as the Project Manager at Senwes as well as Procurement Director of Afgri.
   All the abovementioned directors, who are also shareholders in Brisen, have been involved in various capacities in the management of industry organizations such as Afma, Sacota and Safex.
   The combined agricultural marketing and risk management experience of Brisen’s management is 95 years.
   Brisen has grown over the years from a raw material trader to a company which delivers specialised, customised services to its clients (both corporate and grain producers) which include the following:
   Financial services company registered with the FSB.
   Trader of various agricultural commodities in the feed and food processing industry.
   Member of Safex, Afma and Sacota.
   Contract growing of maize, soya, sunflower and wheat.
   Hedging of maize, soya, sunflower and wheat.
   The marketing and management of various hedging products to producers as well as to consumers.
   Physical supply of grains which includes the hedging, price management, financing, storage and transport to the mill.
   Export and importing of grain.

Brisen is endowed with a dynamic team of young traders and marketers and excellent, established administrative, logistical and accounting departments. These departments are supported by custom-designed software for the agricultural environment within which we operate.
