The company was founded in the summer of 2007 by Henk Slotboom and Maarten Verbeek, who combine almost 50 years of experience in the investment industry in both research and sales. It is based in Cothen, right in the centre of the Netherlands.

The IDEA! differentiates itself from the traditional players by adding value through unique idea-driven and bespoke research instead of focusing on maintenance products.

Its products and services are tailored to the needs of investment professionals looking for independent analyses, local expertise or a credible sparring partner when making their investment decisions. These services are based upon exclusive arrangements with each individual client.
