Mission statement: 

Gold Consulting’s mission is to help investment managers achieve their growth objectives by improving the effectiveness of their communications in three key areas: business development, client servicing and consultant relations. We believe that, in today’s competitive environment, generating superior rates of return is a necessary requirement for gaining and keeping new clients, but not a sufficient requirement.

We also believe that, although some managers win new clients based mostly on their historical returns, most successful managers gain new business because they have developed a comparable advantage with the key decision-makers at the prospect’s organization and the prospect’s consultant.

Our focus is to help investment managers develop a comparable advantage by assisting them to prepare compelling written materials that support the case for retaining their firm and by training them to deliver persuasive presentations.

Gold Consulting is a singularly focused firm, specializing in helping investment managers to:

   Improve their sales team’s presentation skills to increase their “win ratio”
   Enhance their written sales materials to more effectively support the case for hiring their firm
   Obtain an unbiased and objective assessment of their institutional business plan
   Get their product(s) on consultant radar screens
   Improve the effectiveness of their client-servicing program
   Improve the effectiveness of their RFP responses so they get into more finals
History: 

Ron Gold launched Gold Consulting, Inc., in September 2006 after spending 35 years in the institutional investment management industry—23 years as a consultant to corporate and public pension funds, endowments and foundations, and 12 years with various investment firms in the areas of business development, client servicing and consultant relations.

During his career, Ron has discovered what separates the successful communicators from the rest of the pack as a result of:

   Evaluating hundreds of questionnaire and RFP responses
   Observing representatives of investment firms conduct more than one thousand new-business presentations, client-service meetings and consultant meetings
   Reading thousands of written communications that investment managers prepare for clients, prospects and consultants

Gold Consulting draws on Ron’s extensive knowledge and experience to help investment managers win and keep business by improving the effectiveness of their communications.
