FIRM HISTORY
Our team of professionals are dedicated to helping you achieve financial security.

Thomas Curran, President and Chief Investment Officer of Curran Investment Management began his career at First Albany Corporation, where he spent 24 years. As Senior Vice President and part of First Albany Corporation’s Private Client Group, Tom formed “The Curran Group” in 1996 to provide his clients with discretionary investment management services paired with a strong commitment to personal service. In 1998, the Curran Core Growth Equity portfolio was incepted, commencing a long, independently verified track record of risk-adjusted large-cap domestic equity outperformance that is still ongoing today. We began our investment letter, Curran Views, to communicate our investment philosophy and belief in owning high quality companies for the long-term.

In 2000, First Albany Corporation sold its Private Client Group to First Union Securities. As part of First Union Securities and later through the merger with Wachovia Securities, we continued to build a diverse client base and introduce our investment management services to individual and institutional clients.

In 2004, Tom and his team of eleven investment professionals left Wachovia Securities and formed Curran Investment Management, a limited liability company and federally registered investment advisor.

All of us at Curran Investment Management are excited by the opportunity to build our own firm, one based on a culture of excellence and a commitment to providing comprehensive wealth management solutions with the highest level of personal service and attention.



In 2017, the firm expanded the scope of its services being offered to personal clients with the creation of Curran Wealth Management (CWM). Curran Investment Management (CIM) remains unchanged, serving both institutional and personal clients, and has become the primary business unit of CWM. The launch of CWM reflects the growing needs of the firm's personal client base, containing divisions which offer estate and tax advisory services, insurance and risk analysis, and strategic real estate planning.
