Overview:
Our law firm is proud to be located in the center of historic Morristown, New Jersey, a military capital of the Revolutionary War. Morristown sits in the center of northern New Jersey, and in close proximity to New York City. Since 1912, our offices have looked out over "the Green", a former town square where ancient trees remind us of our heritage, and over Park Place, where the development of business and finance point us to the future.
Founded more than ninety-five years ago as the firm of King & Vogt, we have grown to approximately 75 attorneys, serving businesses of all sizes and individual clients in a broad range of practice areas. From our original areas of practice in litigation, real estate (commercial and residential), banking law and trusts and estates, we have expanded to also include substantial practices in many other areas of law, such as taxation, general corporate law, acquisitions, finance and dissolutions, land use, municipal law, health care, elder law, education law, cable television and telecommunications, environmental law, construction law, employment law, bankruptcy, guardianship, administrative law and family law. Today's Schenck, Price, Smith & King is a full-service law firm.
In order to promote quality, efficiency, currency, and expertise, we have organized the firm into three major departments, representing the major segments of our practice: Litigation, Tax, Trusts, and Estates and Business Law. In recognition of the need for flexibility and breadth in today's environment, we have numerous practice area groups that work across departmental lines, such as banking, health care, environmental, and e-business and telecommunications.
As a medium-sized firm, we can handle routine and simple matters easily and efficiently, yet we also have the ability to marshal extensive resources, expertise and experience. For example, we have the ability to organize teams of lawyers from our numerous practice areas to handle every aspect of a complex project, whether that means focusing our resources on structuring, negotiating, and closing large, complex and time-sensitive transactions, or aggressively pressing complex court cases.
