Overview:

Ridge Capital Partners, L.L.C. is a private equity investment firm focused on partnering with outstanding managers to pursue platform build-ups and growth investments in companies in the smaller end of the middle market. Together since 1992, the partners of RCP collectively have over 30 years of private equity experience and have made over 55 investments in middle-market companies.

Based outside of Washington, D.C., Ridge currently manages over $50 million of equity capital in industries including niche manufacturing, value-added design/assembly, business services, consumer products, and distribution. RCP seeks to invest in companies with attractive internal or acquisition-related growth opportunities, which typically have revenue of between $20 and $75 million at the time of initial investment.

RCP is flexible in its investment approach to suit the needs of prospective sellers and has experience with a variety of transaction types including: recapitalizations of privately owned companies, where owners sell a portion of their business to generate liquidity while maintaining an ongoing ownership interest; management-led platform build-ups, where RCP partners with an accomplished executive to purchase a platform company and to grow both internally and through strategic add-on acquisitions; management-led buyouts from corporate parents; take-private transactions of publicly-held companies; and growth equity investments. While RCP typically purchases majority equity positions, we also make selective minority investments.

RCP works closely with its management partners to assist them in creating long-term shareholder value. Involvement with our portfolio companies is typically via the Board of Directors and oversight consulting, while the day-to-day management of the business remains in the hands of our management partners. RCP acts as a resource base and provides multi-functional support to the management partners to assist in executing the business and investment plan.
