Private Advisors was established in 1997 and is dedicated to alternative investment management. As of December 31, 2012*, Private Advisors manages over $4.5 billion in assets with over 70 employees. The firm provides investors with expertise in fundamental credit, equity and diversified hedge fund strategies. The firm also provides expertise in private equity investing including North American small company primary fund investments and co-investments, as well as secondary investments across a broad range of private equity strategies.

History:

The firm was founded in 1997 by Lou Moelchert to provide institutional and high net worth investors with professional management of alternative investments. As the CIO of the University of Richmond endowment, Mr. Moelchert began making investments into alternatives in the early 1980s. Today, the firm has two fully dedicated investment teams that focus on the management of hedge fund and private equity capabilities.
