Overview:

In 1934, at the height of the Great Depression, my grandfather Samuel A. Green founded First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Philadelphia in South Philadelphia. It became Firstrust Bank in 1987. His cornerstone was a commitment to community and the foundation was family values. He was a leader in every sense of the word and began Firstrust’s tradition of recognizing leadership in each other, our customers and in the community.

In 1970, Daniel B. Green became president and CEO of the bank and currently serves as chairman of the board of directors. I proudly became president and CEO in 1995, and today serve as vice chairman and CEO.

Today, the third generation of the Green family manages Firstrust with the same high standards and personal service my grandfather insisted on all those years ago. It's our pleasure to continue that tradition by serving all your banking needs. If you are a small business owner, you'll find us especially attuned to your needs because of our roots.

Over the years, we've earned recognition from the major credit rating agencies as one of the strongest FDIC insured banks in the U.S.

1/1/1934 Institution established. Original name: First Federal Savings And Loan Association Of Philadelphia
5/31/1979     Voluntarily relinquished FDIC insurance.
3/19/1986     Became FDIC insured.
3/19/1986     Changed primary regulatory agency from State to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
3/19/1986     Changed name to First Financial Mutual Savings Bank.
4/1/1986 Changed name to Firstrust Savings Bank.
2/19/1987     Changed organization type to Stock Savings Bank.
1/24/1989     Reorganized.
6/14/1999     Moved bank headquarters from Flourtown, Pennsylvania to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
10/10/2008 Changed trust powers from Trust Powers Not Granted to Limited Trust Powers Granted.
