Overview:

Penn Venture Partners, LP is a New Markets Venture Capital Fund, approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and focused upon growth and expansion stage venture capital investment within certain underserved markets located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (the "Fund"). The principals of Penn Venture Partners are experienced in private equity investment and have managed investment capital on behalf of institutional investors for over two decades.

Penn Venture Partners, LP is a private equity fund whose objective is to seek long-term capital appreciation primarily through growth and expansion stage venture capital investments in companies located within Central and Northern Pennsylvania. The Fund invests in equity and equity-like securities, and may also provide operational assistance grant funding to enterprises in which Penn Venture Partners has made or expects to make an investment. In addition to providing above average, risk-adjusted returns to the Fund’s limited partners, the Fund endeavors to promote economic development, wealth creation and opportunities within the geographic confines of our market.

The Fund invests in companies that possess a proprietary technological niche or uniquely exploit a proven technology to gain a competitive advantage. Industries targeted for investment include manufacturing, basic industries (such as materials and material technology, printing, powdered metals, tool and die, agribusiness, and environmental technology), computer hardware and software, interactive media, networking, educational products and services, control systems, industrial automation, energy, telecommunications, biotechnology and the life sciences. The Fund may occasionally invest in other types of innovative product or service companies with high growth potential. The Fund generally participates in expansion, LBO and M&A investments in basic industries.

The Fund expects to invest a minority of its capital in growth-stage and ongoing technology ventures with the balance invested in expansion and later stage companies that are expected to provide earlier than average liquidity for the portfolio. Penn Venture Partners may participate as a sole investor or lead and co-invest with other qualified institutional investors, private equity funds and strategic partners.
