Legg Mason Capital Management, LLC (LMCM) was formed in 1982 for the purpose of serving as investment manager to the Legg Mason Capital Management Value Trust. Over the life of our organization, LMCM has added additional mandates, as well as mutual fund and institutional separate account clients from around the globe.

LMCM is an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It is a subsidiary of Legg Mason, Inc. (Legg Mason), a publicly traded company (NYSE: LM).

LMCM focuses on the investment process first and foremost. The Firm is structured and staffed to create an environment that allows our investment professionals to make sound, evidence-based decisions. We believe this is critical to delivering outstanding performance to our clients. Investment professionals account for about one half of our total employee count. Our Chief Investment Officer, Bill Miller, serves as the Chairman of our Firm, and our Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Murphy, started her career as a Security Analyst and holds the CFA designation.
