CBRE Global Investors is one of the world’s largest real estate investment management firms with $95.9 billion in assets under management.1
The firm sponsors real estate investment programs across the risk/return spectrum in North America, Europe and Asia for investors worldwide including public and private pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, endowments and private individuals. Programs include core/core-plus, value-added and opportunistic strategies through separate accounts and commingled equity funds, debt investment, global multi manager programs and listed global real estate securities vehicles.
Individual clients and funds are managed by focused investment teams responsible for executing a single strategy, fund series or account. Each team employs a disciplined, research-based investment management process to maintain consistency and performance.
CBRE Global Investors is an independently operated affiliate of CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE:CBG), the world’s premier, full-service commercial real estate services company, with approximately 36,000 employees (including affiliates) across more than 400 offices worldwide. This gives CBRE Global Investors a significant competitive edge, as the firm harnesses the research, market intelligence, investment sourcing, financing, leasing and property management of CBRE for the benefit of its investors. |

History:
CBRE Global Investors was founded in 1972 as the investment management subsidiary of Coldwell, Banker & Company and began investing in real estate for U.S. tax-exempt investors that same year.
By 1998 the firm had $6 billion of assets under management in separate accounts and commingled funds. That same year CB Commercial, as the parent company was then known, acquired Richard Ellis International to create CB Richard Ellis, the leading global real estate services organization.
Over the next decade, CBRE Global Investors underwent significant strategic changes, growing from a domestic pension fund adviser to a multi-strategy global investment organization. By putting in place a dedicated team model and leveraging our unique access to a global real estate platform, the firm branched out from Los Angeles and London to 20 offices across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East and expanded its program offerings from core-only direct programs to a series of complementary strategies positioned along the risk/return spectrum.
In 2011, CBRE acquired substantially all of the ING Real Estate Investment Management (ING REIM) operations in Europe and Asia from Netherlands-based ING Group N.V., as well as Clarion Real Estate Securities (CRES), its U.S.-based global real estate listed securities business. The newly acquired operations have been merged with the company’s existing real estate investment management business, and the combined business now operates as CBRE Global Investors. |
