History:

ACAM Advisors LLC specializes in hedge fund research and the structuring and management of funds of hedge funds. Our assets under management have risen to approximately $500 million as of December 31, 2007. In addition to our funds of hedge funds, we manage the ACAM ACES Fund, which invests in exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Our 100% institutional client base is a broad range of insurance companies, pension funds, trust banks and corporations.

Tokyo-based ITOCHU Corporation, a leader in global trade, telecommunications, information technology, Internet services, media and retail, employing 40,000 people worldwide, founded ACAM Advisors in 1992 to provide research and advisory services to ITOCHU and other select Japanese institutions. ACAM Advisors was known at that time as Allied Capital Asset Management.

In 1992, ACAM was formed, in part to supervise some of ITOCHU's alternative investments as well as to explore additional hedge fund investments. Such activities continued until 2000 and were at times expanded to include other Japanese institutions with which ITOCHU had a close relationship.

In 2000 ITOCHU encouraged ACAM Advisors to evolve into an independent asset manager and offer its hedge fund expertise to a broader client base. After re-organization and a re-naming of the firm from “Allied Capital Asset Management” to ACAM Advisors, ACAM's first universal commingled product, The Columbus Trust, was launched in August 2000.
