History:

Our founder, Jim McLaughlin, after selling his own highly successful business, developed expertise in the art of long-term investing, learning the risks and rewards while working at an old line bond firm in New York City.

With this knowledge, McLaughlin would go on to start his own boutique bond house, McLaughlin-Slavin, which would later become McLaughlin, Piven, Vogel Securities, Inc., as it is known today.

J.C. McLaughlin, Jim’s son, was subsequently named Chairman and CEO of the company. Under his leadership, the firm has grown substantially, expanding from its original home at 63 Wall Street to multiple offices across the U.S.
